The 1st Oragon Pet Expo, organized by JCI Legazpi in partnership with LGU Legazpi, headed by Mayor Gie Rosal and the City Veterinary Office under Dr. Manny Estipona, took place from April 19 to 21, 2024 at the Legazpi Convention Center. This three-day event focused on animal welfare and aimed to promote responsible pet ownership within the community.

On the first day, activities included informative talks on responsible pet ownership, the basic freedoms of animals, and rabies awareness. Free services such as vaccinations, check-ups, deworming, and an adoption drive were also provided.

The second day featured various games and raffles, continuing the anti-rabies vaccination and consultation services. Additionally, there were neutering and spaying services and an orientation on responsible pet ownership to educate pet owners on best practices.

The final day showcased a demonstration of search and rescue dogs, a pet fashion show, check-ups, anti-rabies vaccinations, and continued neutering and spaying services.

Throughout the event, approximately 300 attendees took advantage of the free services provided daily, underscoring the community’s strong participation and support for animal welfare initiatives.

The success of the 1st Oragon Pet Expo has motivated JCI Legazpi to continue organizing events that cater to animal welfare. By partnering with local government units and veterinary offices, JCI Legazpi aims to promote a culture of responsible pet ownership and ensure the well-being of animals in the community.

The event not only highlighted the importance of animal welfare but also fostered a sense of community among pet owners and animal enthusiasts. JCI Legazpi is committed to building on this success and furthering its mission to enhance the lives of animals through future initiatives and events.
