LEGAZPI CITY, Albay — Leaders, members, and distinguished guests gathered on the evening of February 21, 2026, at the Casablanca Convention Center for the 66th Induction and Turnover Ceremonies of JCI Legazpi, marking the formal transition of leadership and the start of a new chapter for one of Bicol’s most active civic organizations.

The evening’s celebration brought together government officials, business leaders, JCI members from across the region, alumni, and partners in a program that honored the achievements of the past year while setting the tone for continued service and leadership development in 2026.

Celebrating Service and Achievement

The program opened with welcome cocktails and the Presidential Awards Ceremony, hosted by Joaquin Los Baños, recognizing outstanding members who contributed significantly to the success of the organization during the previous term.

Following dinner, the formal rites commenced with a solemn processional, invocation, and the entrance of colors. Members recited the JCI Creed, Mission, and Vision, reaffirming their commitment to developing young leaders who create positive change in their communities.

Messages from Leaders and Partners

In his welcome remarks, Hisham B. Ismail, Mayor of Legazpi City, praised the organization’s enduring contributions to civic engagement and leadership development in the city. He encouraged members to continue collaborating with the local government in implementing initiatives that benefit communities throughout the region.

Delivering a message of support was Alfredo P. Garbin Jr., Congressman of the Ako Bicol Partylist and President of the JCI Senate Legazpi, who commended the chapter’s consistent commitment to service and youth empowerment.

The inspirational segment of the evening featured former Albay 2nd District congressman Jose Maria Clemente Salceda as the Inspirational Speaker, introduced by 2022 JCI Legazpi President Lawrence Adrian G. Fariñas. Salceda's message was delivered by Albay 3rd District Representative Adrian Salceda and he shared reflections on leadership, public service, and the importance of civic organizations in shaping future leaders.

Honoring the Past Term

Outgoing president Jon Celso K. Apuyan delivered his Valedictory Address, reflecting on the accomplishments and challenges of the chapter during 2025. He expressed gratitude to members, partners, and community stakeholders who supported the organization’s initiatives throughout his term.

Apuyan emphasized that the achievements of the chapter were the result of collective effort, dedication, and a shared vision of service to the community.

Induction of the 2026 Leadership

The highlight of the evening was the formal induction of the 2026 officers of JCI Legazpi.

The charging of officers was led by Nico C. Cañaveral, 2026 Regional Vice President for the Bicol Region of JCI Philippines, while the official induction was administered by Rovin P. Estrellado, 2026 Area Vice President for Area 3.

A symbolic Turnover of the Gavel and Medallion followed, signifying the formal transfer of leadership from the outgoing president to the incoming leader.

A Vision for the Year Ahead

In his Inaugural Address, newly installed president Orville I. Ong outlined his vision for JCI Legazpi in 2026. He called on members to strengthen collaboration, expand community programs, and continue building a culture of leadership among young professionals in the region.

Ong emphasized that JCI Legazpi would continue to develop projects that create meaningful impact while nurturing the next generation of civic leaders.

Leadership and Inspiration

The evening continued with the keynote address from renowned neurosurgeon and 2024 TOFIL awardee Lynne Lourdes N. Lucena, introduced by 2022 JCI Philippines National President John Glenn C. Lee.

Dr. Lucena delivered a compelling message about precision, purpose, and leadership, inspiring members to pursue excellence in their professional and civic endeavors.

Strengthening the JCI Community

A significant part of the ceremony was the introduction and induction of the JCI Junior Club (JJC) Legazpi, JCI Alumni Club (JAC) Legazpi, and the newest Baby JCI Members, demonstrating the organization’s commitment to nurturing leadership across generations.

The program also featured the introduction of the Guest of Honor by 2020 JCI Legazpi President Joseph Glenn C. Austero Jr..

The message from the national leadership of JCI Philippines was delivered by Ginno Joseph Jaralve, 2026 National Executive Vice President, on behalf of Patrick DL. Maglinao, the 2026 National President of JCI Philippines.

Looking Forward

The program concluded with closing remarks from Ralph Martin Lim, Executive Vice President of JCI Legazpi for 2026, who thanked partners, guests, and members for their continued support of the organization.

Following the formal ceremonies, attendees gathered for pictorials and fellowship, celebrating not only the beginning of a new leadership term but also the enduring camaraderie and shared commitment among members.
